'I don't want you goin' overseas!'

that's was my rural Utah born & bred Papa's response to my choice to apply for Teach for America. 15 minutes later I had (sort of) managed to explain the program to my wonderful grandparents.

wanna know more about Teach For America? here's the organization in a nutshell:

"Teach For America is growing the movement of leaders who work to ensure that kids growing up in poverty get an excellent education."

now, as a Teach for America 2012 Corps Member, i find myself explaining the organization and what exactly it is i'll be doing next year to a lot of folks.

so next semester i will begin blogging about my Teach For America journey, which will include information about the organization, the work i'll be doing, and my placement region: the 'magical' Rio Grande Valley of Texas!

i'll also continue writing about my life in this student affairs limbo. i mean, i still have a semester and integrative paper to go!
